I am so happy to share with all of you a guest post I recently did for EpiBeat, a blog created by the scientists at Zymo Research. Zymo research is a company that is dedicated to designing new products to study different aspects of biology, including epigenetics, a topic covered in this guest post. Epigenetics is related to cancer in many ways and this post will discuss a bit about what epigenetics is and how our diet can affect gene function and cancer development. I also provide a recipe for delicious green tea cupcakes with coconut frosting, which provides a healthy source of EGCG, a compound shown to help regulate genes that are involved in cancer development.
